As the East coast is getting battered by a cold snowy winter storm, I’m sitting on the steps enjoying the winter drizzle. I am lucky that this is the worst weather we tend to get. In Southern California, we do get high winds on occasion, but nothing compared to what New York is seeing now. While they are wearing parkas, those of us on the West Coast are comfortable with a light striped sweater.
This outfit of the day is simple. I’ve been caught up in hectic schedule of work, and life, and trying to devote time to myself and my health and with very little sunlight available during the winter, it gets hard to take outfit photos. This look is a simple striped sweater (it’s a 2X because I like the looser fit better), leopard print scar and jeans. This is a great example of mixing prints. Not only am I wearing horizontal stripes, which is notorious for making plus sized people look larger, but then I am also calling attention with a leopard print scarf.
If this was any other outfit, I might say this wouldn’t be such a good idea. Because the pieces of this look are so basic, a little spice and fashion rule breaking is a must.
These red converse have earned me a nickname at work as Red. I am not sure if I like it or not. Though, I did get Red as my character from Orange is the New Black in the latest Buzzfeed quiz. They are kind of my staple footwear.
